It hasn’t even been more than a week after One UI 3.0 arrived on the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, that the 4G variant is now welcoming the update. As per a report by GSMArena, the Android 11-based update is being rolled out to users in Europe and Nigeria right now.
The update brings the December 2020 security patch to the flip phone alongside the latest version of Google’s mobile OS and Samsung’s newest iteration of its skin.
Although, when the update will be delivered in other regions of the globe is still unclear, but is expected to follow shortly.
You’ll find all the latest information on software updates for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G below. We’ll tell you what the current software versions are for each device and also give you a heads up when new updates are rolling out.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip Update
- Current stable version: Android 10

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4G is already receiving its first software update just after being launched about a week ago. The update adds a camera feature that was previously missing from the foldable phone.
According to SamMobile, the new Galaxy Z Flip 4G software update is now rolling out in the US and brings the Single Take mode to the camera. The feature was supposed to be available on the phone out of the box.
However, it looks like Samsung omitted to add it in time for shipping. This could be because the Z Flip is already in high demand and Samsung is pushing out as many units as it can, even if they don’t have the promised feature-loaded upfront.
Nevertheless, the software update with the Single Take mode is reportedly rolling out to all unlocked Galaxy Z Flip 4G variants. The camera feature allows its users to capture multiple photos and video clips from the two rear sensors at the same time and then choose the favorite shot or clip from the image gallery.
Alongside the new camera mode, the update adds the February 2020 security patch to the earlier Galaxy Z Flip model. Some stability improvements and bug fixes are also in there. One can download the OTA update by going to Settings > Software update on the phone.
Galaxy Z Flip 4G users received the One UI 2.5 update (version F700U1UEU2BTGE) just some months ago in August 2020. This brought a number of features to the table, like better pro video mode, an improved Samsung Keyboard, and the ability to request a Wi-Fi connection’s password.
One UI 3.0 finally arrived on the Galaxy Z Flip 5G model in December, bearing version number F707BXXU1CTL6. The Android 11-based skin initially rolled out in Switzerland.
