At the dawn of the year, Chinese Giant, Xiaomi teased the successor of Poco F1, Poco F2, which is rumored to arrive in 2021. The developments of the phone are all behind the curtains right now, but that only added fuel to the curiosity and the wait.
With that said, rumors started flying that it might not be a flagship-killer and might get a Snapdragon 732 G chipset, quickly to be dismissed by Anuj Sharma, the Director of Poco India. In a virtual youtube interview with popular tipster Stufflistings, he confirmed that saying, “No, we will not use the Snapdragon 732G in an F-series”. This clearly erases the rumor.
The reason behind this is quite simple. The Poco F series sits above the X-series and is a mid-range lineup. But it also assured to add a flagship MediaTek Dimensity or Snapdragon chipset later in 2021. The company sells a Snapdragon 732G-powered phone in India that is the Poco X3. Poco X3 proved itself to be a value-for-money phone under the range of Rs.20,0000.
Poco F2 Rumored Specifications
Poco F1 earned huge popularity as a true flagship killer after OnePlus. In just Rs.20,000, Poco F1 featured Snapdragon 845 chipset, dual-cameras, IR Face Unlock, and much more. Now it will be a tough challenge for the company to keep up their grades with the Poco F2.
If rumors are true, the Poco F2 will include
- 120 Hz display
- a quad-camera system,
- 4,250 mAh battery
Xiaomi also teased the launch of TWS earbuds along with the Poco Pop Buds moniker. Since the Redmi K30 Pro arrived as the Poco F2 Pro last year, there are thin chances of the upcoming Redmi K40 series to rebranded as the Poco F3 series. Then again all these are rumors and expectations without any assurance. Let’s see how much does the Company lives up to the expectations of the Poco F series.
