Design
The all-new iMac features a brand new design ditching the old 2011 iMac design. The iMac now has much smaller side bezels enabling it to fit a much larger 24-inch display in a slightly larger body of the old 21.5-inch iMac.
The new iMac is now being offered in 7 exciting colours like green, orange, yellow, blue. Moreover, the backside of the iMac coated with a darker shade of colour to give it a more exciting look.
The new iMac now has a slim side profile, boasting an 11.5 thick display reducing the footprint of the new iMac considerably.
Display
The all-new iMac gets an all-new 24-inch 4.5k Retina display, with DCI P3 coverage, 500 nit brightness, and TrueTone, which changes the color balance of the display depending upon the ambiance of the surroundings.
It features a matte coating for improved visibility in brightly lit conditions as well.
Camera
iMac now has an upgraded integrated 1080p Facetime HD camera. The upgraded camera with the much-improved computation of the M1’s ISP (Image Signal Processor) leads to the “Best Camera ever in a Mac.”
Apart from the cameras, the microphone on the iMac has also gotten an upgrade with a new 3-Microphone Array with much better noise cancellation, making it the “Best Mic ever in a Mac.”
Speakers
The speakers on the iMac 2021 have been completely revamped to provide excellent bass, mids and highs.
The iMac boasts a 6 speaker setup comprising a pair of force balancing speakers with increased power and a pair of influential tweeters enabling Spatial audio and Dolby Atmos.
Performance
The all-new iMac packs the more powerful and power-efficient M1 silicon with up to 85% faster CPU performance, 2X faster GPU performance than the 21.5-inch iMac, and 3X better machine learning from the 16 core neural engine of the M1.
With the improvements in Mac OS Big Sur and M1, the iMac can wake instantly and open apps faster than ever.
Connectivity
The new-gen iMac is equipped with 4 USB-C ports 2 of which are 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 capable with 6K display support and a power cable which connects magnetically, and Apple has cleverly placed the ethernet port in the power brick to reduce cable clutter.
Price and Availability
The iMac 2021 will start from ₹119990 ($1499 in the US) and will be available for pre-order from the 30th of April, with shipping starting from the 2nd week of May.
