Samsung announced the new Eco remote controller for its latest television sets, After the confirmation of its 2021 QLED TV Lineup which will support a new HDR10+ Adaptive feature for its users. It is almost similar to the regular Samsung remote but the only difference is that it will be made from recycled plastic which will implement solar energy for recharging.
The design of the remote is designed to last for up to seven years which is actually the average life cycle of a single TV set. This will “reduce tons of plastic waste per year” exclaimed Samsung in an announcement.
This remote will reduce the consumption of AAA batteries. This remote implements the usage of solar energy as it already has a solar panel at its back, so it is best with Samsung’s all-weather Terrace TV.
This device will be made up of 31g of plastic, out of which 28% will come ‘from recycled polyethylene terephthalate.‘ as stated by Samsung. This will reduce the rate of global warming and climate change.
