Redmi Note 10 Series Overview and First Impressions

On 4th March 2021, the Redmi Note 10 series finally made its grand debut in the Indian market. Despite the many controversial issues within and outside the country, the Redmi series has managed to stay very much relevant in the population’s budget segment sector.

The series consists of Redmi note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max.
The Redmi Note 10 has a base variant of 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage at Rs 11,999/- with the higher-end variant of 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs 13,999/-. It has three colour variants Frost White, Shadow Black and Aqua Green.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro starts at a base variant of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs. 15999/-, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs. 16999/- and the highest variant of 8GB RAM 128GB storage at Rs. 18999/-. It has three colour variants- Dark Night, Vintage Bronze and Glacial Blue.

The Redmi Note 10 Pro Max starts at a base variant of 6GB RAM and 64GB storage at Rs. 18999/-, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs. 19999/- and 8GB and 128 GB storage at Rs. 21999/-. Like Redmi Note 10 Pro, it comes in the same colour variants- Dark Night, Vintage Bronze and Glacial Blue.

It is the cheapest in the series and likely to be mostly sold. It has a 6.43 inches Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080×2400 pixels, the first time a phone under 12000 is affording. The refresh rate is standard 60Hz, 409 PPI. It has a brightness of 1100 nits and 100% of DCI-P3 with the screen protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, Dual SIM, Splashproof IP 52, micro-SD card.
It is the lightest at 178.8 gms and 8.3 thickness.

The core chipset is octa-core (2.2 GHz, Dual-core, Kryo 460 + 1.7 GHz, Hexa Core, Kryo 460) Qualcomm Snapdragon 678 SoC processor, a first for India again, which is an octa-core chipset with a frequency of 2.2GHz and the Adreno 612 GPU. It is powered by Android 11 based MIUI 12.

It is equipped with a quad-camera setup at the rear with a 48 MP (Sony IMX 582) primary camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens (118-degree field of view), 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. The front camera is of 13MP within a 3.54mm punch-hole and a video recording of 1920×1080 @ 30 fps, 1280×720 @ 30 fps. The image resolution is 8000×6000 pixels with features like Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus.

The battery is of capacity 5,000mAh and supports 33W fast charging along with a Type-C USB port.

Some other features include 4G Volte, Wi-Fi 802.11, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth 5, GPS with A-GPS GLONASS, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and light sensor.

It is powered by Android 11 based MIUI 12. Its core chipset is octa-core (2.3 GHz, Dual Core + 1.8 GHz, Hexa Core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC with Adreno 618 GPU. It weighs around 192gms with an 8.1mm thickness.

It has a quad-camera setup with a 64MP primary camera ISOCELL GW3 which is where it majorly differs from Pro Max, a 5MP macro camera with 2x zoom, 8MP (118° wide-angle lens) and 2MP depth sensor. It has a 16MP selfie camera with video recording of 1920×1080 @ 30 fps, 1280×720 @ 30 fps, LED flash, face detection. It has an image resolution of 9000×7000 pixels.

It comes with a battery of 5020 mAh battery capacity, USB Type C port and supports 33W fast charging, Dual Sim, Splashproof IP52.

It has night mode 2.0, dual video, Video Pro mode, Magic Clone mode, VLOG mode, Long Exposure mode.

Other features include dual speakers, IP52 water resistance; side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3.5 mm audio jack, Z-axis vibration motor, Wi-Fi 802.11, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth 5, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, compass and light sensor.

It has a frosted glass back with a matte finish that is present to prevent smudges and fingerprints.

Its core chipset is octa-core (2.3 GHz, Dual Core + 1.8 GHz, Hexa Core) Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC and is powered by Android 11 based MIUI and Adreno 618 GPU. It weighs around 192 gms with an 8.1mm thickness.

In terms of photography, it comes with a 108 MP primary camera (Samsung ISOCELL HM2), 8 MP ultra-wide lens, 5MP macro camera and 2 MP depth sensor with features like Digital Zoom, Face detection, Auto flash and Touch to focus and a video recording of 3840×2160 @ 30 fps, 1920×1080 @ 60 fps. The 16 MP selfie camera is housed in a punch-hole of 2.96mm thickness which has a physical aperture of F/2.45 and video recording of 1920×1080 @ 30 fps, 1280×720 @ 30 fps.

It is equipped with a 5020 mAh battery capacity that supports 33W fast charging and a USB type C port.
