Every year, Apple comes up with its WWDC event, around June. Just like we covered WWDC 2020, we are also here to discuss what’s announced in the WWDC 2021 event. We have already discussed, what we expected at the WWDC 2021 event, but let’s see whether our expectations matched the announcements.

In WWDC 2021, a lot of announcements were made, with regards to iOS, iPad OS, Mac OS, and Watch OS. In this article let’s discuss the announcements regards to iOS 15.
We believe a summarized overview of the new iOS 15 , is worth giving a read.

Facetime Changes
With iOS 15, Apple has seriously improved FaceTime with several improvements starting with
Spatial Audio
Apple has integrated Spatial Audio into Facetime with iOS 15 so that the conversations are more natural and better in every way.
Voice Isolation
You don’t need to worry about any background noise with the brand-new Voice Isolation feature introduced in Facetime iOS 15. Moreover, if you need everything, there is a wide spectrum mode as well.
Grid View
With FaceTime, you can now organize all the participants in a grid view allowing you to look a everyone at once, and it also shows who is speaking at any given time so that you don’t get confused.
Portrait Mode
Portrait mode is now on FaceTime, blurring out the background and focusing the attention on you.
Facetime Links
With iOS 15, you can send FaceTime links for others to join, not only with iPhones but Android and Windows devices. You can even schedule FaceTime for a video call with your friends and family.
Shareplay
Apple has now introduced Shareplay, allowing you to listen to music or watch a movie together while on a FaceTime call. While watching a movie on Shareplay, you can switch between portrait and landscape mode and even switch to your TV for your movie watching experience and interacting with your friends on your iPhone. Shareplay is supported by Disney+, Hulu, HBOMax and a lot more.
Shareplay also enable the user to share his/her screen with the participants in the FaceTime
Spotlight Changes
Spotlight can now search for photos in your library and, with the help of AI can find texts in the pictures. If you Spotlight search any contact, it will now bring the option to call FaceTime and show shared photos, location, etc.
Live Texts
Apple introduced Live Texts similar to Google Lens on Android. Live Texts can recognize texts within the pictures and copy them anywhere you want. Moreover, if there is any number in the photo, you can contact it directly using Live Texts. Live Text can also identify the art, pets, books, etc., in the image and show information about it.
Memories
In your photos app, there is a memories section, which shows your memories with music that suits it. Memory mixes feature mixes your memories with different songs with an intelligent filter to give your memories a new feel.
Notification Summary
With iOS 15 all your notifications are now categorized into those that your need your attention right away and those that don’t. The ones that don’t need your immediate attention are kept together as your Notification Summary.
Do Not Disturb Changes
Like iOS 14, Do Not Disturb stops all notifications from coming, but it indicates others about it so that they don’t disturb you while working. But if there is an important thing, there is a way to notify you as well.
Moreover, iOS has personal and work modes that only allow messages from your coworkers and work-related notifications in work mode and messages from friends and family while in personal mode.
iMessage Changes
Shared with You
Now the news, music, and photos shared to you via iMessage is present in the news, music, photos app in a section called Shared with you.
Apple Wallet
Apple wallet now integrates your Apple card, car keys, home keys, hotel keys, and personal ID in one app for a seamless experience.
New Weather App
The weather app is getting a redesign with a more accurate representation of sun position, precipitation. It has even more information baked into it like wind speed, wind direction, UV Index etc.
New Apple Maps
The all-new Apple Maps is now being introduced to Spain, Portugal, Italy, Australia, and the US, UK, Ireland, and Canada.
The brand-new Apple maps bring a lot more detail, including cycle lanes and crosswalks. Apple Maps brings a lot more transit improvements as well with a lot more stations. Furthermore, Apple maps can show you which way to go after you come out of a station by scanning the building (this feature is available in London, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, Washington DC).
Conclusion
