Google has just released the Android 12 DP3 ( Developer Preview 3) which is compatible with Pixel devices. Hence the first Android 12 beta is expected to come next month at Google I/O 2021.
What’s new in Android 12 Developer Preview 3
Google has now enabled a few of the experimental features like the redesigned ‘Silky Home’ Settings UI. The Monet wallpaper-based theming system is yet to come. The build also comes with visual improvements throughout the user interface.
Android 12 DP3 has added a new app launch animation along with a splash screen that shows the app’s icon. With the use of the splash screen APIs, developers can easily customize different aspects of the splash screen animation, even further.
Google is also improving call notifications for developers. The new CallStyle template helps developers to create notifications for incoming, outgoing and screened calls. There are also new camera vendor extensions and support for quad-Bayer camera sensors.
Some additional changes include improved permissions for alarms, improved web linking, haptic feedback, and faster machine learning capabilities.
