While the other Smartphone Companies are launching updates and teasing the launch of new smartphones, Realme has already unveiled its first smartphone of 2021 in China today. Named the Realme V15 5G, the smartphone is actually a successor to the 5G-enabled Realme V5 from last year with major upgrades on the display, camera, and charging front and a newer MediaTek 5G chipset on board.

Realme V15 5G Specifications
The smartphone is quite lightweight, about 176 grams and 8.1 mm thick making it easy to handle. It features a 6.4-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate. While the refresh rate is a bit disappointing, the Super AMOLED display is really an upgrade over the IPS LCD panel present on the Realme V5. There’s a 16 MP camera punch hole at the top left.
Realme V15 also comes equipped with a newer MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G chipset, a dual-SIM 5G, dual-mode smart 5G support, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. The device runs the company’s latest Realme UI 2.0 skin based on Android 11.
The triple camera system on the rear is helmed by a 64MP primary sensor which is an upgrade over the 48MP sensor aboard its predecessor. There is an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 119-degree FOV, and a 2MP macro lens onboard the Realme V15. The cameras here support 4K video recording, 1080p videos @ 120fps, UIS Max stabilization, and a lot more.
Realme V15 boasts a 4,310mAh battery pack with 50W SuperDart fast-charging support while the predecessor only offered 30W charging speed. The company claims that it can fully stock up the battery in under 35 minutes using this charging technology. However, a 65W fast-charger is available in the box.
The device includes a 3.5mm audio jack, USB type C port, Bluetooth 5.1, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac to round up the connectivity options.
Price and Availability
Realme V15 has been priced starting at CNY 1,399 (~Rs. 15,850) for the 6GB+128GB base variant. You have to pay out a whopping CNY 1,999 (~Rs. 22,650) for the 8GB+128GB variant which is a bit absurd as paying as close to Rs. 7,000 for additional RAM may seem too irrational.
The smartphone has three colorways, namely Koi, Mirror Lake Blue, and Crescent Silver. It jas gone up for pre-order today and will go on sale starting from 14th January in China. Although, when will it make its way to India or will it ever, still remains a question.
