Facebook-owned messaging platform WhatsApp introduced support for animated stickers last week. The firm has now begun broadly rolling out the new update to all of its users.
“Stickers are one of the fastest-growing ways people communicate on WhatsApp, with billions sent every day. We are rolling out new animated sticker packs that are even more fun and expressive,” written by WhatsApp on its blog post.
Though WhatsApp only enabled the sticker pack ‘Playful Piyomaru’ within the beta-testing part, it has additionally now added 4 new packs specifically Chummy Chum Chums, Rico’s Sweet Life, Bright Days, and Moody Foodies.
Based on the report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also rolling out a new sticker pack “Open for Business!”, presumably for WhatsApp Business app.
You may get hold of animated stickers from the ‘+’ icon present to the top right corner of the WhatsApp stickers part. Tapping on it can open the Sticker collection. You can obtain the stickers you want by tapping on the Download button. There’s additionally support for third-party animated stickers as well.
Unlike Telegram’s stickers, on WhatsApp, the stickers don’t loop. While most of you might have thought it was a bug throughout the beta, it seems like WhatsApp intends to make it behave in this fashion.
In case the above-mentioned feature is lacking in your phone, try to update the app to the latest version on Play Store or App Store.
