Intel has “something big to share” on 2nd September, but they haven’t yet revealed the timings of the event. The event will most likely be held in the form of a virtual presentation due to the current situation in the world.
Intel hasn’t shared any information about what to expect in the event, but we anticipate that it is going to launch its 11th generation Tiger Lake CPUs based on the 10 nm++ architecture. These intel Tiger lake CPUs are the successors of the 10th Generation Ice Lake CPUs and are supposed to be used in ultra-portable notebooks.
The Tiger Lake CPUs are Intel’s answer to the 7 nm AMD 4000 series CPUs which are more efficient and have better performance that too at a significantly lower price than the Intel counterparts. The AMD 4000 series CPUs which was first unveiled in January in CES where Intel also showcased its Tiger Lake CPUs.

About Intel’s Tiger lake CPUs
Intel’s new Tiger lake CPUs are to be based on Willow Cove architecture which would provide an upliftment in IPC as well as frequency compared to Ice Lake. According to the rumors, the Tiger lake CPUs are going to be limited to 4 cores and 8 threads. Let’s hope that Tiger Lake can resolve the shortcomings of Ice Lake CPUs. Even Though Ice Lake was more efficient compared to 14 nm Sky Lake and Comet Lake, its boost clock speed was lackluster, which is why Comet Lake CPUs are still more commonly found in Ultrabooks. As per the leaks, the performance seems promising, the new Intel CPUs with 4 cores and 8 threads are able to match the AMD counterpart with 8 cores and 8 threads.
Graphics
In the graphics side of things, the Tiger lake CPUs are supposed to be the 1st to support Intel’s new Xe graphics. Even though Intel has been graphics for a long time, but this is the first time Intel has invested in a GPU architecture to scale it up to discrete levels. The Tiger Lake CUs are expected to come with 96 EUs (Execution Units) which is 50% higher than 64 EUs on Ice Lake CPUs. Leaks suggest that the Xe-based GPU might be slightly faster than its AMD counterpart in Time Spy. Tiger Lake is also expected to boast improved AI integration, integrated Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, and a lot more.
