Microsoft announced a significant price rise for Xbox Live Gold on Friday, January 22.
Microsoft admitted, “we messed up today and you were right to let us know”.
“Connecting and playing with friends is a vital part of gaming and we failed to meet the expectations of players who count on it every day,” said Microsoft.
“As a result, we have decided not to change Xbox Live Gold pricing.”
Xbox Live Gold price remains the same:
- One month for £6.99.
- Three months for £17.99.
- Six months for £29.99.
- 12 months for £49.99.
It’s the most important turnaround from Microsoft since its notorious call to go back on its contentious Xbox One policies back in 2013. It is a call that has been welcome on-line and is seen as an on the spot results of the vociferousness of the response.
