In-display fingerprint scanners are the new normal. Unlike capacitive sensors, the optical sensors come with tiny digital cameras that take a picture of the fingerprint.
Redditor, u/ntelas46 found a way to use the in-display fingerprint sensor of his Xiaomi 9T as a camera. He apparently used a third-party app called the “Activity Launcher” to access hidden activities on his smartphone. He shared a screen recording on Reddit.
As seen in the video, he opened the Activity Launcher app and searched for the fingerprint sensor. Then, he clicked the “Locate sensor” button. Here, a tiny viewfinder shows what the fingerprint sensor sees.
This was a really creative approach, but if you wanna try it yourself, do try it at your own risk.
