Google’s last year’s flagship the Pixel 4 was a massive disappointment with an uninteresting design, poor battery life and high price.

But this year, Google is looking to correct its errors and move away from the flagship market to offer a more competitive smartphone at a lower price.

Recently, the Pixel 5 specs have been leaked, and it seems that Google is serious about its pixel phones time around.
The pixel 5 Is supposed to sport a 6-inch FHD+ OLED Display with 90 Hz refresh rate and a hole punch. Interestingly, the chin on the Pixel 5 has been shrunk to a minimal size as well, making the Pixel 5 one of the nicest looking Pixel device. The pixel also ditches the facial scanning technology on Pixel 4 for a more modern punch-hole design at the front.

Under the hood, is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G coupled with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB onboard storage. There also is the Qualcomm X52 modem for sub-6GHz 5G.

The camera has always been pixel’s strong suit, and here the Pixel 5 doesn’t disappoint. It replaces the telephoto lens on the Pixel 4 with a 16 MP ultra-wide sensor with a 107-degree FoV. The primary camera now is a 12.2 MP sensor with 77-degree FoV. At the front is the 8 MP front camera the same as the one found on the Pixel 4. Though it might seem like the camera hardware on the pixel isn’t anything extraordinary, it’s important to remember that pixel cameras get its improvements from software rather than hardware.

Finally, for good battery life in the Pixel 5, it is supposed to pack a 4080 mAh battery which is even larger than the Pixel 4XL battery along with 18W fast charging to top-up the phone quickly.

The best of all the Pixel 5 is supposed to come at a much cheaper price compared to its predecessor the Pixel at $649-$699. Despite the reduction in cost, the Pixel 5 retains features like wireless charging and IP68 water and dust resistance which is a pleasant surprise.

The specs have been leaked and have a slim chance of being incorrect so take this with a grain of salt. Anyways Google will be launching the Pixel phones on September 30, so the wait is almost over.
