Nokia’s Tamil Nadu telecom gear manufacturing plant had been urgently shut down after a number of workers were examined positive for COVID-19.

The ease in lockdown was supposed to spice up the ailing financial system by permitting manufacturing corporations to renew operations, albeit with strict precautionary measures in place to make sure workers’ safety.

The firm was hopeful of resuming manufacturing on the earliest on a restricted scale.

Nokia isn’t the only primary manufacturer to renew operations and shut it in a brief span of time resulting from Covid-19 instances. Recently, Oppo, the Chinese smartphone firm, needed to shut down its Greater Noida manufacturing unit after six manufacturing unit employees were examined positive for COVID-19.

The firm had a post-lockdown employee strength of 3000 in its manufacturing plant the work had been continued in rotational shifts while taking precautions towards Covid-19. Despite precautions, the corporate which has a 10,000-strong workforce in India had shut down no sooner than it had reopened its manufacturing.

It would possibly provide some relief to citizens that though the coronavirus infections tally for India as on Tuesday 26th May was at 1,45,380, the entire toll of deaths was 4,167, a small quantity keeping in mind the nation’s huge population.
