Google has decided to tug the plug on its Google Shopping app on Android and iOS. the corporate unrolled its last major update to the app back in 2019 and now it’s confirmed that it’s shutting down its shopping apps to specialise in the online experience.
Google, during a statement to 9To5 Google, said that it’s ending support for its Shopping apps on Android and iOS. the corporate also said that the clients, however, will still run through June. “Within subsequent few weeks, we’ll not be supporting the Shopping app. All of the functionality the app offered users is out there on the Shopping tab.
We’ll continue building features within the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that make it easy for people to get and buy the products they love,” Google said during a statement to the publication.
As far because the general experience cares, both Google Shopping’s Android app and its web interface offer a uniform interface to the users. The Android app features a bottom bar instead of a navigation drawer. aside from this, both the interfaces have a Home feed that gives an inventory of recommended products while the Saved section has all the products that users have saved.
Similarly, the Notifications tab has updates and promotions, while Cart lets users make purchases. In addition to the present, users can buy items via Google by clicking on the Shopping tab in Search. This makes having a fanatical app and resources for offering the experience pointless. This, however, changes with the corporate shutting down the Google Shopping app for Android and iOS.
