Samsung is holding its marquee Galaxy Unpacked event on August 5 where the corporate is slated to launch a trove of new devices, the Galaxy Note 20 and the Galaxy Fold 2.
The event is online this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. The show will begin at 10 AM ET/ 7 AM PT / 7.30 PM IST/ 4 PM CET, and you’ll catch it live on Samsung’s site.
Let’s get down with all of the announcements we expect at Samsung’s mega event.
Table of Contents
Galaxy Note 20
The firm will launch two models of its flagship: the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and the Galaxy Note 20.
Thanks to a slip-up by the corporate’s Russian web site, we’ve already had a look on the Note 20 Ultra once. Various leaks have suggested that each unit will run either a top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or Exynos 990 processor. Both variants will include a base storage of 128GB, and so they’ll sport a super AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate for clean animations, gaming, and video.
The Note 20 will have three cameras on the back — 4 if you count the time-of-flight sensor — with a 64-megapixel sensor leading the pack; the Note 20 Ultra will have a 108-megapixel primary sensor. The units will have 4,300 mAh and 4,500 mAh batteries respectively.
Galaxy Z Fold 2
Samsung may want to forget its first Galaxy Z Fold phone, which had loads of issues with the screen and quality of the build. The Fold 2 will be put under the scanner on these specific criteria as soon as it’s out there to reviewers.
According to a report by MySmartPrice and leaker Ishal Agarwal, The Z Fold 2 will ship with a single hole punch camera on both shows. The first folding phone from Samsung had a peculiar notch on the side on the unfolded display.
The Z Fold 2 has a 6.23-inch outer display, and 7.7-inch unfolded display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will sport a triple-camera setup similar to the Note 20.
The new Galaxy buds
Along with these new phones, Samsung will even launch its newest model of Galaxy Buds (Galaxy Beans?) wireless earbuds. In the purported advertising and marketing video from the model embedded within the tweet under, Samsung says, “Keep the noise out. Let the sound in,” hinting at a doable Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) characteristic.

The Galaxy Tab S7
Accessories company Pigtou launched renders of the upcoming tablet duo: The Tab S7 and S7+. The tablets may have 11-inch LCD and 12.4-inch AMOLED displays respectively.
The smaller variant could have a 7,700 mAh battery and the larger variant could have a 9.800 mAh battery. The design of the tablet is strikingly similar to Apple’s newest iPad Pro.
Galaxy Watch 3
Samsung will even launch two variants of its newest smartwatch with 41mm and 45mm screens. As prominent leaker Evan Blass noted on his Twitter account, the new watches could have better sleep monitoring, post-run coaching, and automatic workout monitoring options.
Both variants will be out there in a number of colors and finish with Samsung‘s signature rotatory dial. The promo suggests that the watches will have a new heart rate sensor and will have the ability to measure blood oxygen levels.
As anticipated, Samsung is packing a slew of units into its Galaxy Unpacked occasion. Stay tuned to Tech2Stop to be updated!
