As per the report, the 2020 edition of the iPhone which is the iPhone 13 series will be catching up with some of the top Android phones in the market in terms of the device’s refresh rate.
Display on the new version of iPhone will have a variable refresh rate. Refresh rate is basically the number of times a display shows a particular image. It is also useful for video playback as high refresh rates are better for sports and fast-paced content.
Reportedly the displays will be supplied by Samsung, which will be converting one of its optical light-emitting diode (OLED) product lines to accommodate low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) panels which is a backplane technology for OLED displays, that allows companies to produce variable refresh rates.
This is not the first time that Apple is using high refresh rates. ProMotion technology on its iPad Pro tablets has a variable refresh rate between 60Hz and 120Hz.
