Final Cut Pro X 10.8 update.Worth Upgrading?
So if you are into video editing on your Mac you have probably heard of Final Cut Pro X. Now in December the latest update of Final Cut Pro X has been launched I.e. version 10.8.
Basically I am also using the 10.7 version on my MacBook Air 2017 and it’s running very smooth. So I am also a little confused on whether to upgrade to fop X 10.8 or not.So let’s clear our perception together.
So let’s throw some light on the basic improvements that Apple has listed on their site.
New in Final Cut Pro 10.4.8
Released December 10, 2019
- Prevents an issue that could lead to visual artifacts appearing on a Mac with an Nvidia graphics card that has the Reduce Transparency accessibility preference turned on.
- Fixes an issue that prevented media from appearing in the Photos library browser when using Final Cut Pro on macOS Catalina.
- Fixes an issue in which Final Cut Pro would sometimes load an incorrect project into the timeline.
- Resolves an issue in which thumbnails would not update when skimming titles, generators, and transitions in the Browser.
- Improves stability when sharing.
- Improves stability when skimming media in the Browser.
- Improves reliability when working with Sony XAVC media.
- Improves reliability when importing and exporting CEA 608 captions.
So with that let’s discuss whether we require the upgrade.Well if you ask me I would say both yes and no.
Yes , because the thumbnail loading issue is fixed in case of titles, and stability improvements have been made for the exports.
Well No, because it’s not a major update and thus will hardly make any difference in the existing performances if you are short on data or you are having some important project going on there’s no need to upgrade. Let’s wait till the big one arrives with a more plethora of features.
So if you decide to upgrade just make sure you backup things properly, just for safety generally projects are not lost in version upgrades.
