Samsung is fixing the Galaxy S20 FE’s buggy display with new updates

After some customers voiced issues concerning the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE‘s display performance, Samsung is now addressing these points with a few updates.

Soon after the phone’s launch, some owners experienced a number of issues with the device’s display sensitivity. These ranged from phantom touch issues and its incapacity to differentiate taps from gestures and swipes, to fully ignoring any input in extreme instances.

An update rolled out to the device last week and particularly addresses these issues. A second update is now hitting Europe with the firmware number G78xxXXU1ATJ5. The new update’s changelog doesn’t point out any particular tweaks to the touchscreen.

Despite the problem, the Galaxy S20 FE seemingly got off to a good beginning. It looked an attractive option on paper for many who didn’t wish to fork out on the more costly S20 flagships. But the display gremlins spawned concerns that Samsung might have cut more corners than initially thought. Thankfully for consumers, it appears to be an easily-fixable software problem rather than a hardware defect.
