RTX 3080, 3090 delay till 2021

The Nvidia RTX 3080 and 3090 have been incredibly scarce with extremely limited availability with both cards being out of stock within seconds of getting live. Getting hands on one of the latest Nvidia GPUs have been an utter nightmare for the customers with them waiting for several hours to buy one.

Unfortunately, the situation doesn’t seem to get better soon since Nvidia CEO Huang stated that the reason with such a shortage is the high demand for the GPUs and not with the supply.

According to Huang, “Even if we knew about all the demand, I don’t think it’s possible to have ramped that fast,” he also added, “We’re ramping really hard. Yields are great, the product’s shipping fantastically, it’s just getting sold out instantly.”

Last Month, Nvidia issued an apology for such a rough launch for the RTX 3080. Let’s see if Nvidia can improve the situation by removing the scalpers who plagued the RTX 3080 and 3090 launches.

Nvidia recently delayed it’s the RTX 3070 launch to October 29th to build up more stock available on the launch day. But it might just have been a strategy to launch the cards after seeing what AMD has to offer with its Radeon 6000 GPUs.

If you can wait for some time, we would suggest waiting for a month to see what AMD has to offer and take a decision accordingly.
