Recently the official images of the Google Pixel 4A were leaked, which indicates that the Pixel 4A was a real thing to be announced on Google I/O in May. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Google I/O was canceled, which made us wonder when the Google Pixel 4A would be launched. Fast forward 2 months into the future Google still hasn’t announced the pixel 4A. According to reports the Pixel 4A was supposed to be launched on July 13th, but it has been postponed to August 3rd.
In late 2019 and early 2020, the leaks for the Pixel 4A started emerging, and they were quite exciting, especially due to the success of the Pixel 3A. It was supposed to feature a punch-hole display, impressive camera, Snapdragon 730 processor and 6 GB Ram. The Pixel 4A was supposed to improve on the great features along with fix the shortcomings of its predecessor. The sub $400 price tag and superb features with pure stock Android as well as 3 years of updates made the Pixel 4A a very compelling product.
Google’s last year flagship the Pixel 4, 4 XL were a disaster, and the fantastic Pixel 4A could have restored the brand reputation, but the delays have led to frustration by the people looking forward to it. Because of this delay, the competition has caught up, and the Pixel 4A is now surrounded by pretty impressive mid-range phones from different brands. Samsung launched the Galaxy A51 long back in January, and its 5G variant is on its way as well. Even Apple has launched its budget iPhone SE 2020, and the Oneplus Nord is about to be launched next week. Overall, the Google Pixel 4A has lost its thunder and Google has lost its opportunity to capture the mid-range market with the Pixel 4a.
If you are fixated on getting a Stock Android smartphone with Google’s 3 years updates and one of the best cameras in the market you can wait for the Pixel 4A, but there are plenty of options in the market you can go for already.
