DJI has unveiled its new mid-sized drone, the Air 2S
The design of the 2S seems quite similar, except for an extra pair of front obstacle avoidance cameras.
The Air 2S offers a larger (1-inch) sensor that shoots up to 20-megapixel photos or 5.4K video at 30fps (or 4K at 60fps and 150Mbps).
The camera features include 4X digital zoom, at 4K/30fps. There is also an option for 6X zoom in 2.7K. 8X zoom is also there, but it’s capped at 1080/30fps.
Also, the drone supports the following color profiles.
- Normal (8 bit),
- D-Log (10 bit) or
- HLG (10 bit)
The Air 2S weighs around 595 grams resulting in a slightly lower max flight time — 31 minutes down from 33
DJI claims, that there shall be better obstacle avoidance, kudos to the updated cameras. Also, the video connection should be more stable.
Now there’s a new “MasterShot” feature. MasterShot seems to combine pre-programmed flight paths with intelligent automatic editing, to give you a creatively edited video, in a single tap.
The Air 2S goes on sale today for $999 for the standard bundle or $1,299 for the “Fly More” combo. Availability in India is still unknown.
