Apple’s first-ever Siri-enabled smart speaker launched in the year 2018 did get praised for its design and sound quality in the beginning but the heavy price of this device couldn’t compete with other better-priced speakers in the market.

Now, Apple confirmed to TechCrunch that the company will stop selling its HomePod speaker after its available samples run out, and instead they will focus on the smaller version of this device. The company also added that it will continue to provide HomePod customers with software updates, as well as service and support through Apple Care.

Towards the end of last year when HomePod mini was launched, it looked much attractive to Apple fans who were looking for an Apple-made smart speaker. But unfortunately, it didn’t have the best start as compared to Apple’s other devices when a few customers complained that the speaker’s base stained some surfaces.

“We are discontinuing the original HomePod, it will continue to be available while supplies last through the Apple online store, Apple retail stores, and Apple authorized resellers,” the tech giant said in a statement.

HomePod Mini: Specifications

Talking about the specifications of this device, it is noted that it has pretty good size and an attractive look. It produces ample mids and highs and focus on the mids and high gets more apparently visible when the volume is cranked up, it never loses touch with them, nor does the bass ever sound strained. This device comes at a price of $99 (Rs. 7183.08).

It might prove to be a good entry-level option for those who are just stepping into the world of smart speakers.
