Android chat app pulled down by Google

Google pulls Element’s Android chat app over content it doesn’t control
While the choice of sideloading the app softens the blow, this won’t specifically thrill the community. Multiple governments (including the US, UK, France, and Germany) use part and therefore the Matrix network aboard universities and businesses — losing easy accessibility to the app may be major trouble.

The move comes as technical school giants became progressively sensitive to the content in apps they supply or host. Apple and Google each cracked down on Parler following the US Capitol riot, for example. If Google forces part for content that wasn’t on the app maker’s servers, however, that may be problematic — it might effectively raise the team to screen a whole on-line platform, not simply the section it will moderate.
