Acer Releases the AMD Ryzen-powered Chromebook Spin 514 at $480

Acer arrives with their first-ever AMD Ryzen-powered Chromebook with the starting of CES 2021. Previously a lot of technology giants have already teased us with their smart TVs, laptops, and PC lineups for this year. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Chromebook 2 earlier today and now, Acer has launched the Chromebook Spin 514.

The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 will be available with an anodized, sandblasted aluminum body with a diamond-cut pattern on the top panel and touchpad. It makes up of military-grade durability. It weighs 1.55kgs and hence is not the thinnest Chromebook at 17.35mm.

  • AMD’s Ryzen 3000 C-series mobile processors (The selection can be done between AMD Ryzen 7 3700C or Ryzen 5 3500C quad-core processors, which are occupied with built-in AMD Radeon Vega graphics)
  • 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage
  • The Battery life of 10 hours
  • 2x USB-C ports, 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, and a microSD card reader
  • Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0
  • Optional Backlit keyboard upgrade

In addition to this also there is also an enterprise edition of the Chromebook Spin 514 which runs the Enterprise version of Chrome OS. Upgradation of  Internals is up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM and 256 GB of fast PCIe NVMe SSD storage.

Price and Availability

Acer Chromebook Spin 514 costs $479.99, will be starting its sale from February 2021 in the US. The Enterprise Edition ($749.99)will also be available for sale later this year.
